With a distinctively woody, honey-like aroma, this extraordinary Australian essential oil is a complete perfume in itself.
Complex and alluring, Desert Rosewood has a lingering balsamic warmth, with a rich, meditative scent that often evokes comparisons to sandalwood. It also shares a similar chemical profile to agarwood, the fragrant, resinous wood used in the world’s finest perfumes.
The amber-coloured oil is steam-distilled from the heartwood of sustainably harvested Eremophila mitchellii, a resilient tree native to the sun-scorched regions of eastern Australia.
The botanical name hints to the tree’s tenacity, derived from two Greek words: “eremos”, meaning desert or solitary place, and “phileo”, meaning to love. It has a long history of medicinal and ceremonial use among Aboriginal communities in Australia, where it was valued for its soothing properties and used in traditional ceremonies.
SCENT: Woody, honey-like, mellow
HOW TO USE: Add between 5-20 drops to one of Appellation's stone diffusers or oil burners for a peaceful ambiance. Whether used on its own or in blends, this calming fragrance elevates any space, creating an atmosphere of peace and wellbeing.
